Do you know this dog??

This young male has been wandering the streets of the Butchertown neighborhood in Louisville for several weeks... He was taken to Metro Animal Services on December 29 and will be held for 5 days. Hopefully, Metro Animal Services will consider him adoptable at the end of that time - it is unlikely anyone will claim him... He appears to be young - maybe a year. medium size, friendly and very sweet. possibly a border collie mix.
this is a kill shelter - please call Metro Animal Services in Louisville 502-363-6609 if interested in adopting.
thank-you.

Happy New Year!!!

Once again another year has flown by. As we say goodbye to 2008, and welcome in 2009 the Butchertown Neighborhood Association wishes everyone a Happy New Year. This year will undoubtedly go into the record books as one of our nation's most trying. From the economic turmoil and collapse of our financial systems, to our historic elections- 2008 was a year of uncertainty in which we clung to hope and wished for better times.

Tomorrow we turn a new leaf, and with that comes new aspirations and expectations. We hope all of you will continue to put forth the effort it takes to grow and tighten our community. Many of you have dedicated countless hours for the sake of Butchertown, and we are grateful for your service. We are looking forward to hosting new community based events, and can't wait to see you all there!

Happy New Year Butchertown, and may 2009 be a peaceful, healthy, and refreshing year!

Concrete Jungle

Please take a look at the wonderful illustrations put together by Brandon over at Brokensidewalk.com.

If you are not up to speed on the latest news with 86-64, then this is a must. The state has just released their study on it with blaring inaccuracies. Please contact your council-person, mayor, and other elected officials to let them know how bad of an idea the expansion of Spaghetti Junction is, as well as not building the East End Bridge first!!

This is the real deal folks. The picture above is Butchertown!! ouch.

Olde Tyme Christmas Celebration

Over the weekend friends and families gathered for the annual Old Tyme Christmas Celebration on Frankfort Avenue. Area property owner Emily Boone, residents Natasha Maze, Leah Deines and Leah McKinley were on hand to take part in the festivities. Emily and Leah McKinley were caught on film by the Courier-Journal discussing their favorite dog costumes. Kristina Iler and her dog, Kobe, took first place in the Best Dressed catagory, while Natasha won the coveted hundred dollar savings bond that was donated on behalf of First Capitol Bank of Kentucky. Great hat Emily!!
